We have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor / Estimator to join our Commercial Decorating team. This is a permanent, full-time role.

Role & Responsibilities

Ø Produce realistic quotes / tenders utilising given information and carrying out site visits.

Ø Manage commercial relationships with clients and ensure requirements are met.

Ø Reviewing contract conditions of each project, highlighting any risk to the delivery team.

Ø Monitoring project costs to completion reporting any issues immediately.

Ø Generate regular financial reports to management for projects.

Ø Producing and submitting of applications for payments and final accounts.

Ideal Candidate

Ø Substantial experience in similar role, ideally within the trade.

Ø Whilst not a requirement, experience in both project management and the supervision of site-based operatives would prove beneficial

Ø Strong commercial awareness with good financial and numeracy skills.

Ø Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.

Ø Proactive and adaptable with a ‘Can Do’ attitude.

Ø Computer literate in software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Ø Reliable person who can lead by example.

Requirements

Ø Driving Licence.

Ø Relevant qualification, HNC or Equivalent.

Ø Ability to take off information from drawings.

Ø Practical knowledge of the industry.

Job Description / Purpose

Skilled operative qualified to NVQ Level 2 +, delivering high quality decorating works.

Must have at least 5 years painting and decorating experience and hold a valid / trade specific CSCS Card.

Good communication skills are essential along with the ability work as part of a team and also alone on projects.

Working away from home may be required from time to time.

Essential Qualifications

NVQ in Painting & Decorating, Full U.K Current Driving License, CSCS Card (Trade specific)

Preferred Qualifications

PASMA & IPAF

PPE provided, Paid holidays, Pension plan contributions, Ongoing training and personal development.

Rate of Pay from £14.46/hr. – Dependent on experience.

Johns of Nottingham are providing an excellent opportunity for a multi skilled sub-contractor to work with our innovative, dedicated and expanding company. We are looking for a multi-skilled sub-contractor to work alongside our insurance reinstatement team.

The division carries out building repair works across the East Midlands area, meaning the sub-contractor must be conversant in the following trades:

Wall & Floor Tiling either qualified/timeserved.

Joinery either qualified/timeserved.

Plastering either qualified/timeserved. (Preferable, but not essential.)

The majority of work carried out would be on residential sites, however, it is preferable that they can approach commercial sites too.
