Ikea Distribution Centre Doncaster - IKEA
Project Details
After the successful completion of the external cladding decorating works at the flagship Nottingham store, IKEA appointed Johns of Nottingham to carry works at their distribution centre in Doncaster. The iconic Ikea blue colour was used again in colour coding the office and security cladding elevations.
Stringent measures were put in place to ensure the safety of site workers and our on-site staff due to the volume of traffic present at this busy distribution centre.
Our site supervisor who was SSSTS accredited worked closely with the Ikea facilities management team communicating on a regular basis making sure the project ran smoothly and in-line with all required standards.
The scope of works included:
- Preparing and degreasing all surfaces to be painted.
- Masking and protecting surfaces not to be decorated.
- Applying primer coat where required.
- Finishing with two full coats of Johnstones Semi-Gloss top coat.
- Masonry plinth was prepared and finished with two full coats of smooth masonry paint.
The overall results of this project enhanced the look of this distribution centre and continues the successful working relationship between Johns of Nottingham and IKEA.
